These terms cover use of this website and the estimates and work provided by Arthur & Simpson Ltd.

2. Using this website
The content here is provided for information about our services. Descriptions of methods, materials and typical problems are general guidance about the type of work, not advice about your specific building. Nothing on the site forms a survey or a structural opinion on your property.
3. Enquiries and estimates
Sending the estimate form or calling us does not create a contract. Estimates are free and carry no obligation on either side. An estimate is based on the property as described to us and as seen at the time; where conditions found on starting work differ materially, hidden damage, unsafe access, a covering in worse condition than it appeared, we will tell you before continuing and agree any change with you.
4. Carrying out work
Work is carried out by our own team using the method appropriate to the covering or surface. Access, weather and safety determine when work can proceed; in Shetland and Orkney, jobs at height are regularly moved for wind or rain, and we will keep you informed when that happens. You are responsible for telling us about known defects, fragile surfaces, or anything on site that would affect safe working.
5. Prices and payment
Prices are agreed per job before work begins. Payment terms are agreed with you at that point. We do not take payment through this website.
6. Cancellation
Tell us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule agreed work. Where you are a consumer, your statutory cancellation rights apply to contracts made away from our premises, and nothing in these terms removes them.
7. Guarantees and liability
Any guarantee applying to a particular job is the one stated to you for that job. No general warranty period, insurance-backed guarantee or accreditation is published on this website, because none has been supplied for publication. We do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
8. Complaints
If something is not right, tell us first. Call 01595 747045 or email property@arthurandsimpson.com and we will look at it. Most problems are settled quickest by someone coming back out to the property.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
